Incidental Art

There was something so intriguing to me about this little group of found art works. They are a byproduct of my painting process or in other words, art that my studio makes itself over the course of a number of years. There is a purity in the chance, randomness and incidentals that I feel is lacking in my work that exists in these. Essentially, they are bits of panel that collect falling paint and brush swathing, recording the history of the making of a body of work, thus creating a collection of moments over time without intention or value judgement.

I'm pleased to announce the opening of my solo show at FW Gallery in Baton Rouge, La. The show will feature a selection of work completed over the course of 2016. I encourage everyone to come by the opening on Friday, April 7 from 6pm - 8pm. Everyone is welcome. If you can't make it to the opening, the show will continue through May 20, 2017.

Gallery Hours:
Tues - Friday: 10am - 5pm
Saturday: 10am - 3pm

For friends and family out of town, I created an online gallery for you below. My photography of the work is not quite the same experience as seeing it in person. The colors, details and textures don't come across as well as I'd like in my photos, so please come on by if you can. I am looking forward to seeing you!
