July News and Blues

Heat Rises, ink on Claybord, 5”x7”, 2020

My friends,

I hope you are staying well and adjusting to our new social, political and healthcare landscape. The hot Texas heat is upon us and we are under stay at home orders here in Austin until further notice. So, I am spending my time in quarantine catching up on some materials experimentation and exploring new ideas surrounding the origin of consciousness.

Like many of you, I've been closely following the Black Lives Matter protests in Austin, around the US and abroad. I am so inspired by the many brilliant organizations, artists, writers and public leaders who've been fighting to end systemic racism for a very long time, many of whom I am learning about for the very first time. I've dedicated a page on my website with resources to learn more about how we can work together to support these organizations and the incredible work they are doing. I understand my beliefs are not shared by everyone, but I do encourage looking into the daily challenges Black Americans face and the history of why. This new page is evolving and you're welcome to suggest resources I might need to add.

Make an Offer Program Continues through July I have added a few new medium size works and will keep updating the store as time allows this summer.

As always, I'm so appreciative of your interest and support. Please take a moment to browse the new work from the past few months; I welcome your feedback and comments.

Stay safe and enjoy your summer,

Andrea

Tools for the Infinite Mind (Updated 9/23/21)

I’ve recently been reading a group of fascinating books, one lead to the next and so on. I decided to share the best ones with you here. Every one of these books has influenced me in one way or another, and migrated right into my current work. If you are interested in metaphysics, spirituality, ancient humans, deep time, ritualistic art, physics and alchemy…even American history, certainly there’s something here for you. I’m always looking for a good read as well, and I welcome your suggestions. Most of these books, I checked out from the Austin Public Library, but I included links to buy with more info along with each title. (Original post May 8, 2019)
